How Can I Repay the Lord for All His Goodness to Me?

“How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?” is not really a question about settling a debt. Grace cannot be paid back as though it were a transaction.

It is a question of response.

Gratitude becomes visible in the way we use what has been entrusted to us: our time, opportunities, knowledge, relationships, work and influence. The appropriate response to goodness is not merely to feel thankful, but to become more faithful with what we have received.

The gifts of God can become service to other people. Knowledge can become teaching. Opportunity can become an open door for another person. Resources can become generosity. Experience can become wisdom shared.

Perhaps the answer is not, “How much do I owe?” but, “How shall I live because I have received so much?”
